32GB USB 2.0 Memory Stick

When you buy a 32GB USB drive it will not show as a full 32Gb when you plug it into your PC or Laptop.

It will show between 28.5GB and 30GB ish – This is perfectly normal and is the same for all suppliers. Below is the boring stuff as to why this happens.

Real capacity explained – 

Flash memory products are usually shipped in accordance with 1 MB = 1000 KB, 1 GB = 1000 MB computing, but the operating system using binary arithmetic 1 MB = 1024 KB, 1 GB = 1024 MB.

32 GB = approximately 28.5 GB – 30 GB

This is calculated difference between manufacturer and your PC, please search for ‘USB flash drive capacity’ to get more information.
